2001—Michael Patrick Destinations &
Communications, Ltd. (MPDC), of Hyannis, MA, has been
awarded the Cultural Destinations of New England (CDNE)
public relations account after a competitive bidding process.
MPDC offers travel and tourism public relations, destination
marketing, strategic planning and marketing partnership development
services.
CDNE
is a marketing consortium comprising seven venerable character
properties which are associated with nearby world-class museums
throughout New England. CDNE members are: Dan’l
Webster Inn of Sandwich (Cape Cod), MA and Plimoth Plantation
of Plymouth,
MA; Deerfield Inn and Historic Deerfield of Deerfield,
MA; Inn at Mystic and Mystic Seaport of Mystic,
CT; Inn at Essex, of Essex, VT and Shelburne Museum
of Shelburne, VT; The Orchards and Sterling & Francine
Clark Art Institute of Williamstown, MA; The Salem Inn
and the Peabody Essex and The Salem Witch Museums
of Salem, MA; and the Woodstock Inn and Billings Farm
& Museum of Woodstock, VT.
The property and museum members
are marketing partners in the truest sense and cross-promote
and -market each other within their respective destinations and
intra-New England. “We feel that the Cultural Destinations
of New England product is the finest cultural marketing group
yet formed. Each property is a perfect venue for visitors to
become steeped in the culture of its destination through visits
to associated museum(s). CDNE offers prospective travelers
