Hyannis, Cape Cod, MA March 1, 2001— A newly-formed marketing consortium comprising seven of New England’s most enduring destinations recently launched. The consortium, Cultural Destinations of New England (CDNE), features renowned, world-class museums in each of its seven New England destinations paired with
classical New England inns. CDNE offers travelers rich, compelling and educational cultural experiences.

CDNE members are: Dan’l Webster Inn of Sandwich (Cape Cod), MA and two local museums—Heritage Planation, also of Sandwich, and Plimoth Plantation of Plymouth, MA; Deerfield Inn and Historic Deerfield and Memorial Hall Museum, all of Deerfield, MA; Inn at Mystic and Mystic Seaport and Mystic Aquarium of Mystic, CT; Inn at Essex, of Essex, VT and Shelburne Museum of Shelburne, VT; The Orchards and Sterling & Francine Clark Art Institute of Williamstown, MA; The Salem Inn and Peabody Essex and Salem Witch Museums of Salem, MA; and The Woodstock Inn and Billings Farm & Museum of Woodstock, VT.

Cultural Destinations of New England represents the realization of a collective dream of incorporating these seven world-class destinations into a single, incomparable and highly accessible cultural tourism product. These eighteen partner members (seven inns and eleven museums) collectively represent the very best of New England’s cultural and lodging experiences and we are all exceedingly proud to be part of it,” said Jim Lamberti, general manager of the Inn at Essex. “This product, which has
been several years in development, responds directly to a high demand for cultural tourism products, particularly in New England,” he continued.
